Elle's have the cutest tags and stamps... I love them... And my christmas will come early this year when i get a box full of goodies to play with! How exciting...
Check out those teasers... There are some gorgeous projects for mums and dads, aunties and uncles, grans and teachers ... even the babies are included!
And for those extra keen... take advantage of the early bird pricing...
A loaf of bread cost just 57 cents and a dozen eggs $1.30. You could buy a newly released Sony walkman for $200 (equivalent to $1200 nowadays).
Also during this year the Sahara desert experienced snow for 30 minutes, Margaret Thatcher became the first British female Prime Minister, China introduced it's one child per family policy to curb it's population explosion, The board game Trivial Pursuitwas introduced, and the first instances of Modern Bungee jumping were performed by some students of Oxford University.
And... on this day 30 years ago- this little girl was born.
She was born with the expectations of the world on her shoulders, with the responsibility to be the best person she could be. This little girl is me.
In a way I still feel like a little girl, like I may never (want to) grow up, but in other ways I feel like I have been forced to grow up. It has been hard to get here, seemingly impossible at times, but I did make it. But I didn't do it on my own. I thank my lucky stars for my friends and loving family, who carried me through the bad bits.
There is a lot that I have not done in my first 30 years. There is so much I want to do from here on in. So here's to a new decade... I have so many intentions. I may even post about them later after I reflect on them.
And thank you to everyone that has sent birthday wishes to me. I appreciate them all.
And here is another of my favorite younger days photos... (I think I was 2...)
I have just gotten back from one awesome weekend! The Kim Archer @Home|Away retreat 2009 was a blast.
Over the course of one weekend, I have laughed, cried danced and made some lifetime friends. Not just the girls from the @Home team, but the lovely ladies who traveled from everywhere to come spend the weekend with us.
So thank you to Kim for organising such an extravagant event, Mardi, Janelle and Yvette, who are the most beautiful women, both inside and out, and the registrants whom I spoke with, laughed and danced...
Every time I hear this song I will be reminded of this weekend.
