What a mind-blowing weekend!

I have just gotten back from one awesome weekend! The Kim Archer @Home|Away retreat 2009 was a blast.

Over the course of one weekend, I have laughed, cried  danced and made some lifetime friends. Not just the girls from the @Home team, but the lovely ladies who traveled from everywhere to come spend the weekend with us.

So thank you to Kim for organising such an extravagant event, Mardi, Janelle and Yvette, who are the most beautiful women, both inside and out, and the registrants whom I spoke with, laughed and danced...

Every time I hear this song I will be reminded of this weekend.

a lovely weekend...

I spent the weekend with friends at The Imagination Factory's annual Scrapbooking retreat. I spent the weekend with my gal pals... Celeste, Fiona, My Mum :) Marelle from Geelong, and Claire from hastings. I also met the awesome Ebony from Warrnambool. Whew. I almost need a weekend to recover!

I made 6 layouts and my mini album pages for the Kim Archer @Home|Away Retreat (I can't show you those lol).

It was great to use up all my scraps and limit myself to the supplies I brought. I usually struggle at retreats and the like because I feel lost! This time not so much though because I planned my pages and sketched. I was so productive :o) I am proud of myself. Celeste and I received our Studio Calico kits on Monday after the retreat and we were hoping to have them for the weekend. Never mind... now we have the itch to keep on scrapping.

Not long now until I am on a plane and heading for the Kim archer @Home|Away retreat I cannot wait for the warmer weather and the three days of crafting with new friends !!!!

Two of the additional workshops on Saturday are at 90% full. And the third class is not too far behind with bookings. And I want to fill those last few spots. IF YOU ARE BOOKED INTO THE RETREAT AND YOU WANT TO BOOK ANY OF THE ADDITIONAL CLASSES NOW IS THE TIME TO DO IT.

A funny story...

I just had to share with you :o)

Last week I was lucky enough to be given my birthday present early... this present takes the shape of a Nikon 16-85mm VR lens. Eager to try it out, Tobey and I set out to the spot suggested by Celeste. An abandoned old tip, just near home, covered with brilliant yellow flowers. We parked the car and got out, snapping away I was so pleased with my new lens.

In the distance I heard a car horn. I thought to myself it must be a "worker" of some sort needing to get into the gate and I was in the way. Tobes and I wander back, only to be greeted by Mr Plod. Oh Sh**! Tobey thought the police were going to take him away so he started to panic. I cursed Celeste's name under my breath a couple of times and walked up to the policeman. It was okay though- I wasn't in trouble for wandering around on council land. I was in trouble however for leaving my car unlocked on the number 1 road that hoons dump stolen cars. He had already radioed back to the station to check if our car was stolen.

He told me to not be so silly again and sent us on our way. OMG- How could I be so stupid? Very nice of Mr Plod to check I was okay. I did managed to get a couple of photos while up there. One of my favourites:

Aside from all the trouble with the police I have been scrapping a little bit. Over on Leeann's blog I have been "jacked". I have never been jacked before and it is nice. Thanks Leeann....

Well I am off... I am going on a scrapping retreat next weekend so I will be able to share some more creations with you soon!

Sometimes anyway :o)

So, it's been a while. Busy with kids and school and whatnot. My girl turned 6 not long ago...

 

We made a cake and suck Barbie's torso in it. Turned out well. Barbie then got to play in the  bath afterward to wash the icing out of her leg holes!

I have been scrapbooking and doing assignments for Uni and looking after sick children *sigh* but it is the end of winter *hooray*!

Just a couple of layouts done this week... I have been back on the scrapping wagon and mostly doing some things for magazines which is great.
